The photographer
Marcel Clemens was born in Cornwall, U.K. in 1973. He lives and works in Verona, Italy.
Trained as a radio astronomer in the Astrophysics group of the University of Cambridge, he spent a further three years in Cambridge as a Junior Research Fellow In Peterhouse, before moving to Padova, Italy, with a European "Marie Curie" Research Grant. After fifteen years working in the field of astronomy, he left scientific research to devote himself to the world of digital art and photography; which until then had taken second place to science.
3D imagery has characterized Marcel's work, whether in the world of photomicrography or virtual images.
His original, and sometimes melancholly artwork, reflects his scientifc background and increasingly conveys a sense of isolation from society, especially the digital world.
